Press Release: Meathead Movers expand to Camarillo, CA

January 02, 2007

Meathead Movers, Inc. is opening a new branch in the Camarillo, CA on January 1, 2007. The addition of this branch will expand Meathead Mover’s local service region to include all of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Northern Los Angeles counties. The corporate office will remain in San Luis Obispo, with new corporate positions being added due to the expansion.  Evan Steed explains the motivation for the expansion: “We have developed a way to consistently deliver a service that already has, and will continue to, change people’s perception of the moving industry. By replicating that in Ventura County, we are taking the next step towards changing perception nationwide.”

Meathead Movers is a uniquely structured moving company that hires athletes from local colleges and rewards them for preventing damage to furniture and for receiving high customer service ratings on the post-job survey. Since the inception of Meathead Movers in 1997, it has grown to become the second largest family-owned business in San Luis Obispo County, and the largest moving company in the tri-counties area.

“Despite the public perception of Meathead Movers being a rapidly growing company, I think we have been very conservative with our first expansion.  However, Meathead will open up other offices in similar demographics once our revenue goals have been met and we have the proper management in place.  We have had the San Luis Obispo County market saturated for years and in that time we have been working aggressively on structuring our business to become replicable and offer a consistent, high-quality product, while developing our corporate culture.”
Aaron Steed, President and CEO

Meathead Movers, Inc. is solely owned by brothers Aaron and Evan Steed. Evan will retain his positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and will remain at the corporate office. Aaron Steed will be relocating to Camarillo, along with three veteran Meatheads to launch the new branch office.

Meathead Movers will also continue to move women out of domestic violence situations in alliance with the San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria women’s shelters.  Meathead Movers will also offer the free service to women shelters in all of Ventura, Santa Barbara and Northern Los Angeles Counties along with every other branch the company opens up in the future.

Scott Patterson, who has been with Meathead for six years, has been groomed to run the new Camarillo branch. He explains what he sees as the cornerstone of the company’s success: “Our foundation is built upon specific beliefs that all championship winning teams share: determination, hard work, and perseverance. These values are what allow for us to service our customers with the utmost respect and quality. By having a staff that shares these beliefs, we will succeed in any venture our company undertakes.”

The new branch office is located at:
412 Calle San Pablo, Suite 200
Camarillo, CA 93012
