Though Meathead Movers’ business model provides premium moving services that focus on the clients’ individual moving needs, the company’s heart is to help improve the community and the lives of its residents in need. As Meathead Movers celebrates its third anniversary in Ventura County, many community members are celebrating the company’s philanthropic bent:

Doing community service

During the fires of 2007, Meathead Movers’ employees joined forces with Red Cross to provide aid to fire victims. They collected donations from

the community and used their moving trucks to deliver supplies. During the past two holiday seasons, company employees spread holiday cheer after their shifts by singing Christmas carols at assisted living residences. They’ve also hosted two Girls’ Night Out fundraisers to benefit United Women’s Leadership Council, an initiative of United Way. The first Girls’ Night Out raised $9,000, and the second nearly $10,000 for female foster youth.

Helping women

Meathead Movers has worked with local women’s shelters and recently formed a partnership with Many Mansions to help women and their families leave dangerous situations and get on the path of rebuilding their lives. Meathead offers packing materials and assistance, along with trucks and movers.

Guiding athletes

The company’s core mission is to support athletes working their way through college and to provide them with the tools they need to succeed. The company participates in employee fitness and wellness programs, and teaches them workplace skills (such as structure, discipline, training and guidance) to be ideal employees. New employees also are assigned mentors who offer guidance.

Meathead Movers serves all of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Northern Los Angeles counties. They are a moving company made up of athletes working their way through college who are dedicated to high standards and good customer service. Based in San Luis Obispo, Meathead Movers opened its Camarillo branch in 2006. Brothers Aaron and Evan Steed launched the company in 1997 while they were both still in high school.
