For one night only, employees of Meathead Movers will replace their uniforms with tuxedoes and moving boxes with martinis to assist the United Way of Ventura County’s United Women’s Leadership Council.
Meathead Movers, in conjunction with the United Women’s Leadership Council, will host another “Girls’ Night Out” fundraising event on Monday, April 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the CandleLight Kitchen & Bar located at 211 East Santa Clara Street in Ventura.
“We are very excited to be involved in such a fun event to raise awareness surrounding the United Women’s Leadership Council,” said Amy Fonzo, United Way’s Vice President of Resource Development. “The focus of our group is to help empower female foster youth to be self-sufficient and stable enough to function independently once they leave the foster care system. This event will help raise the funds necessary to help make that happen.”
“Girls’ Night Out” will feature hors d’oeuvres, a no host bar and a silent auction with Meatheads serving up all the food and fun. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 for two tickets. To RSVP, go to www.vcunitedway.org and click on “news and events” or call (805) 485-6288, ext. 221.
Scott Patterson, Branch Manager for Meathead Movers, said they are proud to work with the United Way to help raise money for such a worthy local cause on behalf of the United Women’s Leadership Council. “Especially in these times, we feel it is important to find a way to give back to the community for those who need it most,” he said.
