SLO County business collecting medical supplies for Ukraine refugees. Here’s how to donate
February 19, 2025Meathead Movers, a student-athlete moving company, is collecting over-the-counter medical supplies for Ukrainian refugees.
The company is helping to ship critical supplies to Ukrainians through Operation USA, an international disaster relief organization.
“Our hearts are hurting with what’s happening with the people in Ukraine, and with our resources, we felt it was our duty to give back,” Meathead Movers CEO Aaron Steed said. “There are so many people in our communities who want to help too, so we are grateful that Operation USA can get these critical items to the people of Ukraine.”
They’ll be collecting donations through the end of March.
Donations can be dropped off in San Luis Obispo at 3600 South Higuera St. and at the Meathead Wine Storage at 4468 Broad St., suite #110 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
The company says what’s most needed is over-the-counter medical supplies like bandages and Benadryl. All items must be unopened with an expiration date of 12 months or later.
The items being collected are:
- acetaminophen/Tylenol
- adhesive bandages (Band-Aids) in several sizes
- adhesive tape
- bandage strips, 1’‘x3’‘
- butterfly bandages
- diphenhydramine/Benadryl
- elastic bandage
- eye wash, 4oz.
- hydrocortisone cream (1%)
- Ibuprofen/Advil
- irrigation syringe, 20cc with an 18 gauge tip
- loperamide/Imodium
- medical adhesive tape rolls (2-3” inches)
- miconazole
- Pepto-Bismol pills
- rolled gauze
- saline eye drops
- tourniquets
- triple Antibiotic Ointment
- tweezers
Donations can be dropped off at all six of the company’s Central and Southern California locations. Meathead Movers trucks will also be parked at various shopping centers to accept donations. “Our communities have made incredible impacts on major tragedies in the past, and I know that we can do it once again,” Steed said. “Let’s fill those trucks.”
