Aaron Steed and Claudette Roehrig have been named board co-presidents for Domestic Violence Solutions for Santa Barbara County.
Mr. Steed and his brother, Evan, are founders of Meathead Movers, which employs student athletes from local colleges. Since 2003, Meathead Movers has worked in alliance with DVS to offer free moving services to women leaving violent homes.
Ms. Roehrig earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. Her studies and training led her to work with clients struggling with domestic violence issues. In 2005, she initiated The Candy Cane Project, a holiday program that grants three gift wishes for children of the DVS shelters and Second Stage child residents. Other DVS officers are Linda Wachold, treasurer, and Vicki Johnson, secretary.
