SAN LUIS OBISPO

From fancy drinks to men in tuxes: women on the Central Coast chose to spoil themselves for a good cause.

For the second year in a row, the “Girls Night Out” event supports the San Luis Obispo chapter of Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA.

The fundraiser was held at Mother’s Tavern in San Luis Obispo this year, with employees from Meathead Movers serving up drinks and tapas for those in attendance.

“Helping out a really good cause is probably the best thing. But hanging out with my friends, yeah, that’s the second best,” said “Girl’s Night Out” attendee Dawn Hutchinson.

Plenty of auctions were part of Wednesday night’s festivities.

Last year, the event raised more than $10,000 for CASA.

CASA is a national organization that provides abused and neglected children with permanent housing.

The San Luis Obispo chapter works with more than 180 children. It speaks on their behalf in court as well.
