KSBY: How You Can Help – Donations for Southern California Fire Victims

As fires rage out of control in Southern California, hundreds of thousands of people and their pets are being displaced. If you would like to help those affected by these disastrous fires, there are many donation opportunities throughout the Central Coast.

In San Luis Obispo and Oxnard, Meathead Movers is collecting BRAND NEW emergency supplies to donate to the fire evacuees and victims.

Personal Hygiene: Eye drops, hand sanitizers, sun-protection lotion, lip balm.
Baby Care: Diapers, wipes, formula.
Bedding: Cots, air mattresses, blankets, pillows.
Pet Care: Dry food and pet bedding.
Medical: Face masks, air filters, non-prescription asthma supplies.
WATER, WATER, WATER!

Donations will be accepted Thursday, October 25 from 8-5 p.m. at both Meathead Mover locations. They will be loading up the trucks and delivering donated items on Friday throughout Southern California.

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY: 144 Hind Lane, Suite 140, San Luis Obispo

VENTURA COUNTY: 412 Calle San Pablo, Suite 200, Camarillo

Double D Feed & Supply is accepting donations of animal food for pets affected by the fires. They will be sending donations with Meathead Movers for their trek down south. You can drop off donations at their location off of Tank Farm Road in San Luis Obispo or at any Meathead Movers locations.

Woods Humane Society will be collecting donations to benefit the displaced animals of the San Diego fires. They are collecting the following items:

Horse panels or portable pens
Large and extra-large crates (wire and Veri-Kennel plastic types)
Lead ropes
Broodmare Halters
Pop-up tents and canopies
Ex-pens and portable runs
Hay: Timothy, Grass or Pellets (No Alfalfa)
Collars and leashes
Bowls (plastic or metal)
Disposable litter boxes
Cat litter

They will be delivering all donated animal care/ supplies to the San Diego Humane THIS WEEKEND. They ask you to bring any items to the shelter at 875 Oklahoma Avenue in San Luis Obispo. For more information, call (805) 543-9316 ext. 14.
