SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly is proud to announce that Meathead Movers has signed on to become one of the premiere corporate partners of Mustang Athletics.

The deal provides Meathead Movers, owned by former Cal Poly wrestler Aaron Steed and his brother, Evan Steed, significant visibility through the Mustang wrestling and football programs.

In a three-year deal that will be the first of its kind for the Mustangs, Meathead Movers will be the presenting sponsor for the Cal Poly wrestling program.

“We are excited to invest in Cal Poly Athletics and Cal Poly wrestling,” said Aaron Steed, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “We are looking forward to being a key part of the continued growth of the wrestling program for years to come.”

“We hope that the investment in the team in addition to the visibility at Alex G. Spanos Stadium and Mott Gym will increase awareness of our brand and generate new business,” he added.

“Having Meathead Movers sponsor Cal Poly wrestling is a huge step for our program,” added Mustang co-head coach Mark Perry. “Our athletes and coaches could not be more thankful for their support in helping us move toward the top.”

The Steed brothers started Meathead Movers in 1997, when Aaron was a San Luis Obispo High School junior and Evan a freshman. Because of their school and athletic commitments, the two were having difficulties finding part-time work that fit around their busy schedules.

The company now handles well over 3,000 moves per year, making it the largest moving company in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Meathead Movers is located at 3600 South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo.

Evan is the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the company which has over 130 employees, of which more than 100 are students.

“Having employed dozens of Cal Poly wrestlers, we at Meathead Movers are proud to support athletes working their way through college,” said Aaron Steed. “We are extremely proud to be the official sponsor of Cal Poly Wrestling.”
