Abel Maldonado, the Republican running for the 24th District congressional seat against Democrat incumbent Lois Capps, won the backing Wednesday of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The endorsement was announced at Meathead Movers office on South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo by Carol Hallett, a former state assemblywoman from San Luis Obispo County who now works as a counselor for the Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber’s mission is strengthening the competitiveness of the U.S. economy.
Maldonado says his top priority is to produce more jobs and grow the economy. He said in a statement that he chose Meathead Movers to represent the kind of small-business growth that can occur when entrepreneurs are able to start a business without interference from Washington, D.C. The moving company employs 200 full- and part-time workers.
