The Honor of Being Named “Best Place to Work” - and Why It Means More Than Ever
Hey everyone, Aaron here.
I’m proud. No, make that deeply honored. Meathead Movers has been named a Best Place to Work by Pacific Coast Business Times 2025, and I want to take a moment to share what this really means to me, our team, and our mission.
It’s Not Just a Title- It’s Proof of Culture
When we started Meathead Movers back in 1997, it was always about more than moving boxes. It was about respect, for people, for possessions, for communities. We built a culture of athlete movers who train, jog in between carrying items, sweat hard, care deeply. That means we expect a lot from our team, but we also try to give even more back in support, recognition, and genuine gratitude.

Winning a “Best Place to Work” award isn’t just a pat on the back. It’s proof that what we’re doing works. It says our commitment to our people, compensation, values, health, safety, positive energy, shows up in real ways, in daily smiles, in team bonds, and yes, in how people talk about working here.
This win belongs to every single person who shows up at 6:30 AM, who lifts with care, who cracks a joke when the job gets heavy, who treats someone’s piano or grandmother’s china like it’s their own. Our athlete movers, our customer service team, our folks behind the scenes- recruitment, our dispatch crew, safety, training- all of you are what makes this place special.
Also thanks to our partners, our families, and our community who trust us with their moves, their stories, and their toughest days. You push us to be better. Recognition is great. But action is what matters. Here’s how this inspires what’s next:
- We’ll keep investing in team experience: training, safety resources, wellness, and time off, so that showing up strong doesn’t cost someone their peace of mind.
- We’ll raise the bar on how we support each location- not just performance metrics, but culture, ownership, pride. Each branch (SLO, Ventura, Fresno, Orange County, Bakersfield, Temecula) deserves to feel like “Best Place to Work” too.
- We’ll lean into visibility-more stories from the field, more spotlight on employees, more transparency about what makes Meathead Movers different. Because the world should know: you can be a moving company and an exceptional employer.
- We’ll continue living our mission: offering free moves to domestic violence survivors, fostering volunteer work, speaking out, and giving back. Being a place people love to work goes hand in hand with being a company people can believe in.
To every one of you on the team, thank you. For your hard work. For your patience when things change (like, let’s be real, when something heavy doesn’t quite fit and we have to improvise). For showing up, for carrying things with care, for how you treat every home, every client, every mover.
Being named Best Place to Work is wonderful, but what moves me most is thinking about what we’ll do tomorrow. And the days after.
Here’s to doing bigger, better, stronger…together.
