#FillThoseTrucks: A Diaper Drive with Heart, Muscle, and Mission

At Meathead Movers, we believe that strong communities are built on the foundation of helping others, especially when they need it most. Right now, there’s an urgent need in our community, families across the Central Coast are struggling to access diapers, a basic necessity that many of us take for granted. When you think of heart, hustle, and community spirit, you think of Meathead Movers. And that’s why we’re partnering with Pregnancy and Parenting Support of San Luis Obispo County (PPS) to make a real impact with our #FillThoseTrucks diaper drive.

A Call for Diapers, and Dignity

Diapers are more than just a convenience. For families in need, they are a lifeline. But when federal funding for SLO County’s only Diaper Bank was cut, thousands of local families found themselves without the resources to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy. The shelves of the diaper bank, which had once been stocked with supplies, quickly emptied.

Instead of letting the situation get worse, PPS turned to the local community for help. That’s where we come in. Meathead Movers has always been about giving back, and when we heard about the need, we knew we had to step up.

“As a father of a toddler, I know firsthand how essential diapers are, not just for a baby’s comfort but for a parent’s ability to go to work, stay in school, and maintain stability,” says Aaron Steed, CEO and founder of Meathead Movers. “We’re honored to help drive this mission forward and to rally our community to fill the trucks with diapers, dignity, and hope.”

🚚 3 Days. 3 Locations. 1 Big Goal: Fill the Trucks!

From June 23–25, we’ll have Meathead Movers trucks parked at key locations across the county, and we need YOU to help us fill them to the brim with diapers and wipes for local families in need. Every single diaper helps, and every donation makes a difference.

We’re asking for:

• Diapers (Size 3, 4, 5, and 6)
  
• Unscented baby wipes
  

Event Details:

• June 23: Walmart in Paso Robles – 180 Niblick Rd, Paso Robles
  
• June 24: Walmart in Arroyo Grande – 1168 W Branch St, Arroyo Grande
  
• June 25: Target in San Luis Obispo – 11990 Los Osos Valley Rd, SLO
  Time: 9 AM – 5 PM each day

Why It Matters

Did you know that 1 in 2 families in the U.S. struggles with diaper need? For many families, this shortage goes beyond inconvenience, it affects their ability to go to work, access daycare, and even stay healthy. Here’s why your participation is so crucial:

• 91% of PPS clients request diapers at every visit.
  
• 1 in 4 parents miss work or school because they can’t afford diapers.
  
• Daycare centers require diapers– no diapers, no daycare.

This drive isn’t just about collecting diapers. It’s about helping parents keep their jobs, ensuring babies stay clean and healthy, and making sure families in our community stay strong.

“We’re not just handing out diapers,” says Cami Statler, Executive Director of PPS. “We’re imagining who each of these children will become in 20 years. Every clean diaper is a vote of confidence in their future.”
