Born in San Jose, CA my family moved to the small central valley town of Los Banos when i was 5 years old. I grew up playing many sports competitively and participating in my local 4-H and FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapters raising, showing, and selling livestock. Baseball quickly became my favorite sport. (Although my body appears to be built for football.) My passion led me to commute several hours multiple times a week just to play high level travel baseball with the Central Valley Reds, later known as the Fresno Shockers. I played travel ball from age 13 through 17 along with many of the top Clovis players from my graduating class of 2009 as well as 2008. After homeschooling from 1st grade through my freshman year of high school, I began attending Dos Palos High School where I played Football, and made the starting varsity baseball roster in my first year of attendance. In my first season (sophomore) I helped my team go undefeated in league and then on to win a Valley Championship. My senior year I focused solely on baseball and hit over .500 AVG with 8 triples. I was the first selection to the 2009 County All Star Team batting cleanup and starting at 1st base. I was offered partial scholarships to both North Central University and Aurora University in Illinois, but opted to attend Bethany University near Santa Cruz CA on a partial baseball scholarship.
