Obispo Beautiful Association's Award of Recognition
We have always been proud to have our company based in the beautiful town of San Luis Obispo. But were able to step it up a notch when, in May of 2010, we opened our headquarters and a new mini storage company at 3600 South Higuera. Turning a dilapidated old hardware store into a state-of-the-art 120,000 square foot mini storage and glistening new base for moving operations that stretch across California. The Obispo Beautiful Association (OBA) honored us with the Award of Recognition for Best Commercial Remodel of 2012. The OBA, founded in 1967, advances the community’s interest in protecting and enhancing the beauty of the area. The OBA Awards Committee is comprised of local residents, including architects, designer-builders, landscape designers, artists and planners.

New Times Best of SLO County: Best Moving Company - 1st Place
For the 12th year in a row, we are honored to have been voted San Luis Obispo County’s Best Moving Company. It always feels good when our efforts to provide the best moving experience possible are recognized, but it’s extra special when it comes from the citizens of the county where Meathead started and continues to be headquartered. We are so proud to be the community favorite year after year!
This year the New Time Best of SLO County had a classic video game theme, we felt their staff writer Ashely did a pretty flattering and awesome job. Here it is:
Two clean-cut brothers who worked their way to the top and now socialize with bona fide princesses? I know what you’re thinking: I must be referring to Mario, Luigi, and that pinkest of nobles-Peach. But that description belongs equally to Aaron and Evan Steed, who started Meathead Movers in 1997 and opened two branches faster than Mario conquering castles. Their recent brainchild of Aaron’s wife Erin, which provides assistance with the delicate art of packing up your treasures before the hunky student-athletes take over on moving day. But they’ve got more than gold coins to the brain; for each box packed by the handy princesses, Meathead Movers donates $1 to The Cinderella Fund, an organization that gives grants to children whose families are enduring financial hardships. With an estimated 200 people in their employe—roughly 30 princesses, 150 meatheads, and 20 administrators—and a reputation for following through on their promises, the brothers Steed are poised for a clean-cut, All-American world takover.
