Simi Valley Movers

Simi Valley is world famous as the home of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. More than one million visitors have made the journey here to pay homage to The Great Communicator and marvel at the Air Force One Boeing 707 on display.  Some of those visitors end up looking for Simi Valley movers so they can the place home.

Simi Valley Movers

But Simi is much more…it’s home to nearly 125,000 citizens, many of whom commute to the greater Los Angeles area. If you’re new to Simi Valley, you’ll be glad to know that the climate is sublime, the people are hospitable and the lifestyle is quintessentially Southern California cool.

This area has had several names over the years. It was inhabited by Chumash natives a long as 12,000 years ago, and the name “Simi” is believed to derive from Shimiyi, that culture’s word for the ephemeral clouds that are endemic here. Later, Simi Valley was part of the Rancho San José de Nuestra Senora de Altagarcia y Simi Spanish Land Grant. Thankfully, after being called Simiopolis for a time, it was shortened and simplified to its present name.

In addition to the Reagan Library, Simi is home to two California Historic Landmarks: Rancho Simi was the headquarters of the Spanish Land Grant and is located within the Strathearn Historical Park and Museum. The other is more unusual. Grandma Prisbrey’s Bottle Village is a fantastic example of 1950s folk art. Built by Tressa Prisbrey, it’s a fanciful assemblage of recycled and reclaimed materials. Although not currently open to the public and in danger of disintegration, a dedicated group of volunteers is fighting to raise funds for its salvation.

Recreational opportunities abound. The Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District operates two fine golf courses; the Ted Robinson-designed Simi Hills and the 9-hole par-3 Sinaloa courses. There are miles of hiking and biking trails nearby and horse aficionados will love Arroyo Simi and Coyote Hills Equestrian Centers.

The guys that showed up were so friendly, so eager and always had a smile. Honestly best moving experience ever. And that is saying a lot, because moving sucks.

Everything was great. The movers showed up on time, were careful with everything including wrapping anything that needed it. The move was done in the time that was estimated and nothing was broken or damaged.

Local residential move in Simi Valley

Karl, Cody & Nico made my move a TON less stressful than it could have been. I hope that I don't have to move for a very long time. But when I do I know who to call for help.

Local residential move in Simi Valley

Although I had to wait two and a half hours, supposedly because of "a computer glitch", for the movers to arrive at the scheduled pick up location, I was extremely relieved and very impressed by the two young men that showed up. Guillermo Gutierr and Mayson P. Brooks put my mind at ease while they worked constantly and tirelessly while painstakingly and thoroughly wrapped and loaded up all my furniture. The literally ran up and down three flights of stairs over and over, only using the elevator when absolutely necessary because of the size of certain pieces of furniture. It was a very hot day and I had to insist that they stop and drink water a couple times. They made extremely good time transporting and even arrived before me at the drop off location. Immediately they set off to work again, carefully manuvering my furniture through an extremely difficult outside winding old wooden staircase to a second floor apartment. What totally impressed me on top of everything else was their constantly positive "can do" attitude. They communicated and worked together excellently. I certainly hope these wonderful, hard working young men are paid extremely well because they deserve it.

Local residential move in Simi Valley

This is the 4th move I've done with Meathead Movers and you guys still blow me away with how good you are. Everyone involved - Hunter and KC on the front end and wonderful Jack, James and Anthony on the move team were all professional, fast, communicative and just all around pleasures to deal with. I especially want to thank Jack, my move lead. We were squeezing all of our furniture into a 10x20 foot temp storage unit and it was only with Jack's amazing Tetrus-like skills that we got it all to fit. Thanks for another amazing job. Local residential move in Simi Valley

Showed up with 2 movers instead of three. Although the price was adjusted, which I appreciate, there was a lot of heavy and odd sized items that could have used the extra hands. One of the movers had to drop out because of chest pains due to an asthma attack. My son and the remaining mover had to figure out how to put back together a TV stand that the ill mover had taken apart. That same mover took apart a "Legacy" Computer desk. A main connection piece was bent beyond repair. Luckily, I could not fit the desk where I wanted and opted to have the pieces trashed. A $2000+ La Z Boy Power Recliner was severely damaged during the move. I am had to have a damage assessment done by a La Z Boy technician, at MY expense $109. I have also been told that I must pay for the ordered replacement parts & labor and only then will you open a damage claim for which there is a $250 deductible. I understand that if we are talking about a accidental incident BUT this was Gross Negligence and I object to losing $250 because the chair was not properly protected. The technician also found 2 pins that were taken out (ok) but not put back in which would have caused further damage. When I initialed the papers immediately upon the end of the move I was unaware of the damage to my chair. I actually gave the lead mover a $59.21 tip which I would not have done had I known. I also subsequently found that pictures in at least one picture pack were left loose, sliding back and forth when the pack was picked up to change its location. My son had to pack glassware, including the Denby stoneware that I pointed to Greg Northrup was expensive. I may have saved money using Meathead but I believe processional movers would have handled my valuable items better. With a good tip and a deductible and having to lay out money for repairs, for a claim you seem reluctant to get started, I regret my choice of your company.

The 2 guys who came to help me pack were so courteous, friendly and efficient. We got a ton of things done in the time they were with me. Normally I pack myself and move myself but I was injured in a car accident so I cant do it all so I used your guys to help me. I was so pleased with their efforts. Thanks so much to the 2 guys who were here and I'd recommend them and your services as a referral anytime.
