Meathead Movers first became of part of Santa Barbara County in 2002 when we opened up a dispatch center for our moving crews in Santa Maria. We were warmly welcomed into the community, and quickly came to love the entire county, from the authentic, mouthwatering Mexican food in Guadalupe to lemon drops at Lucky's in Montecito, where it's not unusual to be sitting next to Oprah and Gayle!
 It's not typical to have a county where you can go from champagne brunch at the Santa Barbara Biltmore to a hometown rodeo at the Santa Maria Elks Lodge in one afternoon. This juxtaposition of communities is never more clear than when you are a professional mover. We've done thousands of moves in Santa Barbara County, so we really see the range of opportunities and lifestyles this county offers.
In Northern Santa Barbara County, we have the opportunity to do some of the most touching and fun moves. With over 1,500 families living at Vandenburg Air Force Base--or as the residents like to call it "Vandyland"--we help military families with their relocations. The cities of Santa Maria and Orcutt attract a lot of young families, due to the reasonable home prices and the new developments that include amenities that growing families appreciate, while still maintaining a "small town" feel. A bit more care with the edges of wood furniture to avoid chipping. Care when reassembling mechanical items (treadmill) to assure it is correctly and completely finished.

I ended up breaking a glass door to a book case because it wasn't where I wanted it, and ended up moving it myself and breaking the glass. When the team left the house, the beds were the only pieces of furniture ready to live on. The guys worked hard, probably harder than they had to because of organization .
