San Luis Obipso County MoversSan Luis Obispo County Movers

Spanning just over 300 square miles, San Luis Obispo County is an idyllic haven that is unrivaled in beauty and serenity. We'll admit, it's hard for us to not sound a bit too hyperbolic when talking about San Luis Obispo County. Meathead Movers was founded here in 1997, while the Steed Brothers were attending San Luis Obispo High School--go Tigers! Since then, we've moved literally tens of thousands of people to and from San Luis Obispo County. While we truly enjoy each and every move, there is something really enjoyable about the moves when our clients relocate to here from all over California. There is a special excitement in the voice of the retiree couple who spent their life in Fresno and finally are able to buy the Pismo Beach villa they've always wanted, or the Cal Poly grad who is coming back to raise her kids in the slower pace of life and natural splendor you find in San Luis Obispo County.

As lifetime residents of San Luis Obispo, it's very easy to see why so many people want to move to the Central Coast. Where else can you wine taste in rural Paso Robles at a winery that holds it's own against Napa's best, spend the afternoon listening to a guest lecture on sustainable agriculture at Cal Poly--a US News Best in the West University since 1990--and then finish up the evening dining al fresco in San Simeon, listening to the bark of the elephant seals and gazing up at the lights of Hearst Castle? It's not surprising that so very many visitors to the Central Coast are eager to move here (and we're eager to move them!). Once they are settled in, not only will San Luis Obispans enjoy the abundance of hiking and biking trails winding through lush green hills, they can indulge in the wide range of arts that our community supports, from the great musical theater in Arroyo Grande at the Clark Center (where Zac Efron of High School Musical fame got his start) to the exquisite etudes of the SLO Symphony wafting from the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo.

No Transport residential move in San Luis Obispo

This was only shifting beds within our house, but all moving is stressful - Meathead staff and movers are positive, courteous and understanding of moving concerns, and are respectful of the 'stuff' they are asked to transport. We used Meathead in your infancy years ago when we moved to SLO and today's movers were as genuinely exceptional as the young men back then. Did I mention efficient? Or that they re-assembled the beds - including inserting the dust ruffle, or that they had pleasant conversation as they worked but never chit-chat that would have wasted both our times. We love our home, but if/when the time comes to leave it - Meathead will be our first call.

Local commercial move in San Luis Obispo

I have used Meathead twice for personal moves here in SLO. I was so impressed both times that I recommended, Michele, my boss use Meathead for our office move yesterday. Knowing how Meathead presents itself, our move yesterday was so poorly orchestrated, it would go under "WHAT NOT TO DO AS A MEATHEAD MOVER." The things that went wrong: They were not enthusiastic nor excited to arrive - that was strange right off the bat. They didn't bring packing tape and used mine for rolling up some screws (that was the smallest issue). Again, if these were the worse things yesterday, I wouldn't even bring them up - that's small stuff. But...... They didn't tape any drawers closed. Clayton attempted to remove the formica top off of a utility table/cabinet; he said the screws were stripped and that the only way to move it would be to hammer the top off. Of course we didn't want to do this, but we gave him the OK to do it. While this was going, Michele was at our new office and called Vince at Woodtech, who built the cabinet, and told Vince that Meathead coulnd't couldn't remove the top because the screws were stripped; Vince said, "Impossible, he needs to use a square drill bit." Michele was already at the new office but she drove her drill and square bit over to the move site as fast as she could but Clayton had already taken the top off with the hammer. We did give hime the ok. Unfortunately, it was too late. In removing the top, the sides of the top were damaged. The base was also chipped, but my guess is it was chipped during the move as the base chips are in different spots. When Clayton took apart my Steelcase desk, he was having trouble again. I said you may need to use the square drill bit again. He said, "Yes, I do." He then proceeded to comment, "If I'd used the square bit for the table top, I wouldn't have had to hammer it off." When the desk was moved, the top was scratched and chipped in two places. Woodtech is going to try to smooth it out for us. Michele has a very expensive cloth chair for her desk. The chair has a big black grease mark on it. The crew did not run nor hustle. They were so slow my boss and coworkers left the new office location and brought a pick up truck over to the old location to start moving things. We did provide them lunch. They didn't tell me they were going to take a 15 minute break or a 30 minute sit down lunch. I'm fine if they are going to do that, but they didn't tell me that up front and I had to ask them when they were going to start work again. It was like a party when I said lunch must be over by now. The truck was stuffed shut at the end. Our five desk chairs were literally thrown in the back like the Beverly Hillbillies. I didn't think they were going to get it shut without damage. When we then got to the new site, Clayton had to leave and Jack took over - everything changed at that moment. Jack is a Meathead guy. He got the other two crew members going. They were running and working hard. Jack walked into a hornet's nest and did not miss a beat. He ran the whole time. He was polite, professional, and efficient - everything I had expected Meathead to be. The other crew members then followed Jack's lead. I showed Jack the damaged items.

Local residential move in San Luis Obispo

I am 200 miles away and coordinating this for my daughter's move in SLO was stressful. My husband took care of this previously and he passed away in April so your care and attention was a relief. Molly & Megan took care of everything and the move happened without any issues! THANK YOU!

The two young men were very polite and did their job without any fooling around. The were very respectful of the items they were packing and took great care in packing and unpacking. When they had a questions about where something was to go, they asked. Very pleased with today's service.
